Der Rosenkavalier
In a bedchamber in a palace, two new lovers celebrate their first night. A down-on-his-luck baron celebrates the marriage that will make him rich, not his wedding vows. A young woman freshly plucked from the sheltered confines of a cloister prays for the marriage of her dreams. None will get what they thought they wanted.
In May 2024 Three Bridges Opera held its second intensive study week, centered around Richard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier.

Ariadne Auf Naxos
It's 10 minutes to showtime when the lord of the house has a flash of genius: why sit through a comedy and a tragedy as per his commission, when both can be put on simultaneously and all will be ready for the fireworks. The Composer's opera is thrown into chaos when he is forced to accommodate Zerbinetta's improvisational comedic quintet into his tragedy of Ariadne.
The curtain rose on Three Bridges Opera's first intensive rehearsal week in May 2023, exploring Strauss' 1917 opera Ariadne auf Naxos.

Le Nozze di Figaro
A re-imagining of this wonderful opera, set in the present day. A Glasgow NED,
newly elevated to the aristocracy, is bored with his token wife and creates havoc
at his country estate and within his household, attempting to sow his wild oats.
Spring 2022 marked the Three Bridges Opera's inaugural production of Le Nozze di Figaro, with audiences following the action from boudoir to wedding hall to fireworks in the garden in this immersive re-imagining of Mozart's beloved opera.
